Yolande Barnard is the founder and owner of A New Life Christian Wellness Counselling. She is a Registered Nurse with specialization in Critical Care Nursing and Health Science Education and Administration. In 2018 she obtained her Bachelors of Art (Hons) in Theological Studies and Biblical Counselling.
In 2020 she completed her Diploma in Nutrition (with distinction) at Blackford Centre. In 2020 she qualified as an End of Life Practitioner and is a member of the End of Life Supportive Alliance (ELSA). Yolande is registered as a Specialist Wellness Counsellor with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP).

A variety of modalities are used to promote the healing process. Although the underlying ethos of A New Life is based on the life of Christ as portrayed in the Holy Bible the client’s religious values are respected at all times.
As a Specialist Wellness Counsellor, A New Life serve to enhance the total wellbeing of our clients by making use of a system approach to counselling – working towards achieving wholeness within the integrative unity of the body, mind and spirit. The level of counselling is that of primary health care. A New Life will lend counselling support towards the improvement of quality of life assisting our clients in resolving conflict, improving relationships, resolving general problems, coping with life’s challenges and finding inner peace.
Wellness Counsellors are trained in the skills of listening, clarifying and goal setting.

Emotions about death and dying is usually suppressed and is only brought to surface when the reality of death is confronted. When confronted with death and dying emotions and behaviour are then magnified due to the stress and fear that individuals/family and friends are experiencing.
